With the advent of lightweight compact amateur radios and at the same time increasing interference in cities, radio amateurs are increasingly willing to work from the field. Digital modulations also contribute to this movement. For /P to work, it is not at all necessary to have heavy antennas with massive baluns and a thick cable. Usually in the fields the power is limited to 100 watts and smaller (in terms of transport dimensions) antennas are suitable. One of them can be considered RCWL80100, made similarly to its kilowatt predecessor, but lightweight in all respects. Extension coils are made on carbonyl iron cores and sealed with heat shrink tubing. The standard balun is also sealed. However, for ease of installation and disassembly of the antenna, its wire arms are made removable so as not to get confused. The contact provides a "banana" spring contact.
The main operating ranges are 80 and 40 meters, but this antenna also has sufficient matching on the 17 and 10 meters bands. The kit includes very practical Mastrant cords for lifting and stretching the antenna.
